It is important to understand right from the start, that if you have genuinely invited Jesus to be the Lord of your life, then He is! Sometimes you may feel that He is not really with you because you can’t feel His love or His presence. This is where your new faith comes in. Your feelings will fluctuate, but God has promised that He will never leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8, Psalm 94:14, Hebrews 13:5).
Knowing that He is with you, and for you, it is important that you start living for Him. Making Jesus the Lord of our lives means that we recognize where there are things that are not pleasing to Him (what the Bible calls sin).
With that in mind, we’d like to encourage you in these next steps, so that you can continue to grow as a Christian.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The Old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

Here are four things to help you grow in this relationship with God.
Go tell others what God is doing in your life.
Get in the habit of reading your Bible daily.
Open up your life to the family of God. Get involved, come regularly to worship and hear the Bible taught, join a small group.
As you grow and learn what being a follower of Jesus is, walk it out.
