At Calvary Chapel Petaluma, we want to be a church community that is making disciples who are growing in their love for God, people, and who serve and reach the world. In 2017 we introduced a new ministry to provide confidential one on one Christian care to individuals who are experiencing a difficult period of life. We would match the individual with another member of our church who has received specific training to provide listening, encouragement and prayer. This ministry does not duplicate other ministries, such as Home Groups, Women’s Mentoring or any other small groups, but instead is meant to enhance those ministries. The individual would be matched with one of our trained team to receive emotional and spiritual support for a limited time, approximately 4-6 weeks (or less, if appropriate.) Men will meet with men, and women with women.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” ~ Galatians 6:2
“Therefore encourage one another and build up each other.” ~ 1 Thess. 5:11
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” ~ 2nd Corinthians 1:3-4
Referrals can be made by church leadership and staff, or individuals can contact the church directly to be referred to the ministry.
